As I write this, my Mum's town Echuca is under threat of the floods. She personally is safe but I've been on the phone to her numerous times today just checking in with her to make sure she is safe and not stuck on one side of town away from home. We went out to hubbies work today to make sure it was all okay - some small water marks but mostly all good. We also went for a drive out to Lake Eppalock to check out the spillway. When we moved to Bendigo 3 years ago the lake was at 2% capacity - now it is over flowing - crazy !! The road over the wall was closed - we didn't know why - we went for a walk over it and half way decided to turn back - until a lady said - you should keep going it is worth seeing - Well she was right !! - The road on the other side was gone - MASSIVE chunks missing - it was amazing to see. Parts of the road washed away - massive rocks that you wouldn't be able to budge if you tried !! It was amazing to see the different levels of road base !This is just one road - imagine how many other roads are like this and are still under water that we cannot see - there is a big job ahead of us all to rebuild homes, roads and lives in our communities
